• 30 okra fingers

• 2 medium fish (could be catfish, croaker or any type you prefer)

• 2 cups shrimps

• 500g beef

• ¼ cup red palm oil

• 2 handfuls ugu or spinach

• 1 sweet pepper

• 1 red onion

• Habanero peppers (to your taste)

• 4 small seasoning cubes

• Salt (to your taste)

HOW TO PREPARE SEAFOOD OKRA SOUP STEP BY STEP.

Before we go into the details, note that:

There are varieties of fish to choose from ranging from catfish(one of my favorites), croaker, tilapia, mackerel, or herring.

Also, we recommend that the sweet pepper of choice should be fresh paprika. At least, that is what we will be using in this lesson. The reason for recommending this is due to the appetizing color it gives the soup. You can always skip this if you do not like it. It doesn’t make the taste of your soup less good. Or, you could replace it with our local bell pepper if you wish.

In addition, if you want to make your seafood okra soup a pot of sweet freshness, then ensure all the ingredients are raw. No dried, no grilled. If you must use crayfish, do not use the dried ones. The fresh ingredients are more preferable.

METHOD OF PREPARATION.

• Ensure that the fish is clean. Then, cut them into sizeable pieces

• Shell and de-vein the shrimps.

• Grate the okra or cut it with your hands If you prefer that.

• Chop the peppers.

• Chop the spinach into the desired size you like. Some people chop their vegetables thinly while some do not mind it in chunks.

• Dice the onions.

• Cook the beef with the stock cubes and half of the diced onions.

• Remove the beef and add the fish. Cook for 5 to approximately 7 minutes so it does not disintegrate then take them out gently.Youdon’t want your protein pouring onto the floor.

• Add the shrimps, cook for 5 minutes, and take them out.

• In a different pot, add the red palm oil, once it heats up, add the remaining diced onions, fry for a bit.

• Add the okra and fry till it heats up all over.

• Start adding the stock bit by bit and stir very well to activate the elasticity of the okra.

• When all the stock has been added, add the peppers and the spinach. Cover and cook for 1-minute maximum.

• Add the fish and shrimps, add salt of desired quantity, and stir very well.
