A lot of people are of the opinion that age is just a number, but I’m of a different opinion actually. A study published in December 2013 by Population and Development Review suggests that a lot of other factors than just life span should be considered when it comes to age. But for those that have experienced sun damage and the likes which have altered their looks, and given them a wrong age tag, you’ll surely know what can make you look young again.

So here 7 things that make everybody look younger

  1. Regular Exercise

I guess you didn’t expect this as the first thing to do, but it is what is. Exercising daily and staying fit can help you avoid age related changes. Regular exercise helps your posture a lot. Focus on core exercises, and keep yourself in good shape. Exercise will improve your posture and keep you away from body positions that will make you look older.

  1. Take Care of Your Skin

Stacy Chimento, a certified dermatologist calls it the ABCs of skin care. A stands Antioxidant, which are necessary for preventing signs of anti-aging. B stands for using sunscreen to prevent any damage from the sun’s UVA/B rays on your skin. Then C stands for vitamin C. Use vitamin C serum to strengthen the skin and prevent sun damage.

  1. Use One Skin Care Product At a Time

Dermatologists often recommend starting with a skin care product. Using different products at a time could cause wrinkles. Before using any product, it will be wise to test it on your forearm for a day or two before using it on your face. Perhaps the product stings or burns your skin, please do not use it. To avoid stings or burns your skin it is wise to use it on your forearm first.

One more thing; adhere to the instructions on how to use the product and avoid overuse. Be consistent with the product and it will gradually yield results. You have to give it time

  1. Beware of The Product You Use

There are lots of products out there with promises of making you look young. You might have come across some of those products,be careful to use only products with ingredients that have been proven to refresh your skin. For instance retinol is a vitamin A compound and the first anti-oxidant extensively used in non-perspiration wrinkle creams. Vitamin C is also an antioxidant that protects the skin from sun damage.green tea has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which qualifies its use in skin care products.

Consider the following ingredients which have antioxidants, alpha hydroxy acids, and anti-inflammatory properties that improve skin wrinkles when looking for wrinkles cream

  • Retinol
  • Vitamin C
  • Tea Extracts
  • Peptides
  • Hydroxy acids
  • Niacinamides
  1. Keep Away From The Sun

Avoid the rays from the sun as much as you can. Exposure to sun rays is the primary reason for skin aging.

Also keep away from tanning if you must look young. When you keep doing this, it leads to early wrinkles, dark spots, and cancer as well. These UV rays speed up the skin’s aging process and cause thick damaged skin. Sometimes it could lead to redness and uneven pigmentation.

  1. Take it Easy With Make-ups

Take it easy with your make-up, be moderate with your foundation. When your foundation is heavy, it settles on the rough patches or into the lines of the face. It is advisable to have a good transparent moisturizing foundation or tinted moisturizer, because that’s what you would need as you age. For a younger skin, avoid anything with a powder base.

Robinson, a beautician, recommends using a primer before the foundation. A primer makes the foundation roll on more smoothly, fills in lines and pores, minimizes dark circles and makes the makeup last longer.

  1. Take Collagen Supplements

Some studies say that the body’s collagen production decreases by 1% each year after age 20. This means the skin begins to get thinner and more fragile. Oral supplements help to support the body’s natural collagen production. Mostly recommended is the Reserveage Collagen Replenish which is one of the two types of collagen powder that shows results in two weeks.

This supplement is an odorless, tasteless powder that can be mixed with beverages.

Skin care is just one of the ways to ensure you maintain your fresh, sweet sixteen looks. Others ranging from meals  eaten to habit cultivated also exist. But one last thing you need to also know is this.

Conclusion

Aging gracefully is a mentality; one that lets you acknowledge that some things can’t be changed. But accepting that there are only things you can do to improve the intrinsic effect that comes with aging. So do what you can, accept what you should accept and do not force things to change.
